The mGuide AQUA T transmitter can be used to communicate with one or multiple mGuide AQUA R receivers (sold separately or as 1+1 and 1+2 sets).
The mGuide AQUA system supports nine channels, meaning that up to nine trainers may simultaneously conduct their classes in one pool, or one trainer may provide suggestions to nine students or players individually using separate channels. Alternatively, the trainer can speak to the entire group using a single channel. Both the transmitter and the receiver are water-resistant, hence they are great for training of all kinds of water sports, such as swimming, synchronised swimming, wind surfing, kite surfing, aqua fitness and water aerobics.
The transmitter is very easy to operate – it is switched on and off by the power button (in the middle) by holding it down for a longer time. The channel is switched by the CH+ and CH- buttons, and the volume (microphone sensitivity) is manipulated by the – and + buttons on the left and right side of the power button.
The transmitter set includes an optional clip-on microphone (the transmitter also has a built-in microphone), two antennas (one spare), a white charging cable and a USB plug (charging time is ca. 6 hours, working time is 10 hours), a hand grip and a transmitter clip for the belt.
The mGuide AQUA received takes the form of comfortable, very light (39 grams) sports earbuds with a back head band. Due to their purpose for use in water, the set is completely waterproof. The AQUA received uses bone conduction, hence, one can hear the transmitted sounds despite the earplugs not being inside the ears, but outside (where the earlobe contacts the head). This is an entierly safe method of transmitting sound, and it allows one to e. g. listen to the trainer’s comments while simultaneously being able to hear the surrounding sounds. It is not important whether the receiver is under the water line or above it – the transmission is always perfect.
The mGuide AQUA receiver has only three buttons, meaning +, POWER and -, and it is very easy to handle. A longer press of the middle button causes the receiver to be turned on or off. The channel is changed by a short press of + or -, and the change is confirmed by an automatic message in English.
The mGuide AQUA supports nine channels. In order for reception to be possible, the received and the transmitter have to operate on the same channel. The volume is changed by a longer press of the + or – button. The supplied cable and plug are used for charging. The operating time with a full battery is at least four hours.
The maximum distance between the transmitter and receiver are ca. 100-120 m in a straight line. This means that the mGuide AQUA will prove itself even at the largest swimming pools, and also when teaching the basics of windsurfing or kitesurfing.
